With a Class "C" Residential Contractor License from the Johnson County Contractor Licensing Program and a Contractor License/Residential Building Contractor from the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Jim has the credentials—and the expertise—to bring exceptional craftsmanship to homes across the greater Kansas City area.

Jim launched Custom Home Improvement in 2014, and thanks to his passion, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail, many of his very first customers are still calling on him for new projects today. In fact, nearly all of our business now comes from referrals—the highest compliment we could ask for!

Introducing Alex, the ultimate multitasker at Custom Home Improvement! As our Project Manager and skilled carpenter, he’s a key player in keeping projects on track and ensuring everything meets CHI’s high standards.

For many of our clients, Alex is the main point of contact throughout their remodel, earning him the unofficial title of “The Face of CHI.” His friendly and approachable nature makes him easy to work with, and his ability to juggle logistics, problem-solve on the fly, and bring outstanding craftsmanship to the job site ensures that every project runs smoothly.

Of course, no project is a one-man show—Alex is backed by a talented, dedicated team that makes CHI what it is. But whether he’s overseeing the big picture or crafting the finer details, Alex plays a vital role in turning home improvement dreams into reality.

Say hello to Chris, the other half of the Sales & Marketing team at Custom Home Improvement! If you’re meeting with Jim for a remodel bid, Chris will be right there, taking notes, snapping photos, and helping tell the CHI story. Jim knows the numbers and technical details, while Chris has a knack for making the process feel exciting.

While she’s not involved in day-to-day project management, Chris stays connected behind the scenes, tracking progress and ensuring CHI’s work shines—both in person and online. If you see a CHI project featured on social media, chances are Chris was there capturing the moment.

At CHI’s weekly meetings, Chris brings the homeowner’s perspective to the table, keeping the team focused on the overall vision. Originally brought on to elevate CHI’s digital presence, her role has expanded into a key part of the sales process, helping homeowners see the full potential of their remodel before construction even begins.

And if you’re wondering who’s bringing the fun to the CHI crew? That’s Chris, too. Friendly, personable, and always ready with a great story—she makes the remodeling process feel a little less daunting and a lot more exciting.

Every successful small business has a resident “Get It Done” expert, and at Custom Home Improvement, that’s Daniela. She’s the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and jumps right in... no hand-holding required. Whether it’s tackling admin tasks, rolling up her sleeves on job sites, or keeping our subcontractors' insurance and contracts up to date, Daniela handles it all with a can-do attitude that keeps the rest of us motivated when things get hectic.

She’s also the one who tracks our orders, preps our welcome folders, is the first to greet you if you come by our office, and... if our office plants could talk… they’d probably sing her praises too!

We’re lucky to have Daniela on our team. As CHI continues to grow, we know her role will too and we couldn’t be more excited to see where her drive and talent take her!
